Amuneke puts finishing touches to Golden Eaglets' World Cup preparations

As preparations for this year’s Fifa U-17 World Cup gears up, Nigeria’s U-17 National Team, The Golden Eaglets, who arrived in Buenos Aires for a pre-World Cup training camp on Friday will play a friendly match against their counterparts from Argentina tomorrow. The Match originally billed for Tuesday (today) was rescheduled due to rainstorm and a drastic drop in temperature in the early hours of Tuesday in Buenos Aires.

The friendly between the two World Cup-bound teams is still expected to take place at the earlier stipulated time of 3:30pm (7:30pm Nigerian time) and at the same venue – the Argentina Football Association(AFA) Training Centre at Ezeiza, which is about one hour away by road from the Golden Eaglets’ camp at Buenos Aires Football located in Tigre on the outskirts of the capital.
The team will also play the U-20 side of either Racing FC or Boca Juniors before leaving Buenos Aires for Santiago de Chile.

Head coach Emmanuel Amuneke picked nine players from the crop that finished fourth at the last Africa U-17 Nations Cup for the 2015 World Cup squad which now comprises: Kelechi Nwakali; Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Ebere Osinachi, Kingsley Michael, Orji Okonkwo, John Lazarus, Halilu Lukman, Udoh Akpan, Benjamin Amos, Taiwo Alimi, Chinedu Madueke, Ibe Tobechukwu, Ejike Ikwu, Tochukwu Okoli, Udochukwu Anumudu, Chiaha Chisom, Funsho Bamgboye, Yunusa Abdullahi, Agor Chukwudi, David Enogela, Michael Edidiong, Samuel Opeh, Joel Osikel, Gavi Thompson.

The Eaglets play the opening game of this year's tournament against hosts Chile on October 17. USA and Croatia are the team's other opponents in Group A.
